T.V. Premieres
o.k. my one vice i will sadly admit is t.v. matt doesn't help the situation since it is his too but it is so exciting when a new season starts and they are all coming. i am so excited grey's anatomy started, private practice, the spin off starts tonight. survivor (it's like our 14th season or something) started along with brothers and sisters and top chef is still to come- my favorite. Project Runway is winding down so i can drop that one- pheww. that just leaves Rachel Ray and Oprah(which has been so good lately) as my dailies. i usually just have one a night that's not so bad right?

yay for tv! My vice is tv too. I was thinking about writing a blog about dancing with the stars! the ones I'm probably going to watch are grey's anatomy and gossip girl and the amazing race.
Hooray! There are some really good tv shows! Mine are Prison Break, 24, Lost, and I used to like CSI but they're not as good anymore. I'm sorry to say it but I am going through an anti-Oprah phase right now. Yikes!
TV is actually NOT one of my many vices! It used to be--in the "Friends" era. And I did do Gilmore Girls, but the bulk of that was on DVD, since I didn't get into it until its last season.
Are you ready for this?: I've seen Oprah ONCE. I mean, I've seen snippets of it occasionally, but I've only actually watched a show on purpose one time--Orlando Bloom was a guest ;).
Anywho, my vices center more around escapist reading (obviously), word games (dorky, I know), and FOOD.
Don't worry - it seems like I have a show I watch each night o' the week, too! I'm okay if I just don't turn on the TV - but that never happens! I love summertime because there's really only 1 show I watch... So you think you can dance!
My anti-Oprah sentiments revealed: I really liked watching The Big Give, but since then I think she's become stuck on herself and hypocritical. First, she had that Jewish therapist of hers on and she was talking all about how he has done this amazing research and can affair proof your marriage, etc. She was talking like he had re-invented the wheel! Turns out EVERYTHING this guy said was in that Dr. Laura book "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" that we read for book club. She should have given credit where it belonged.
Second, she refused to have Sarah Palin on her show. If this were any other election, she would have been all about encouraging a woman to run and potentially be in office, but instead she is using her influence and power to run her own agenda. She is a talk show host; her job is to entertain, that is all. I don't appreciate Oprah using her show to manipulate her viewers and their opinions. We have enough brains to make up our own mind-she shouldn't make it up for us! I know this sounds kind of harsh, but you asked! ;)
I love my DVR! We tape our shows and I fold laundry while I watch them back later with the fast forward making an hour show about 35 minutes!
I love Amazing Race, John & Kate +8, American Idol, Survivor, 24 and Dancing with the Stars.

cami- o.k. i totally get it, she did explain that she wasn't going to use the show for politics,that everyone already knew where she stood. as far as being stuck on herself she has always been that way i guess i just look at the topics of the shows. i know a lot of people really had a problem with that dr. i didn't even watch that one. i just love suze orman and dr. oz and those shows that teach something.
Yeah, I do like to watch when she has Dr. Oz, but I'm usually at school when it's on. I always watch Suze's show on Saturday nights though.
I guess I'll have to get over it, but I do think if she was not going to use her show for politics, she shouldn't have had Michelle Obama on her show. Even though she's not a candidate, it counts as politics!
I read the "Let's Roll" book, it was very motivational. I don't know that I could be that composed if put in a similar situation! It's so nice and refreshing to hear about other dedicated and religious families who aren't LDS. Thanks for loaning it to me!
