The newest wolverine!

so i think caleb has decided on college... i guess he is decided he applied, was accepted and he confirmed with them! i think he can still change his mind!
Utah valley university is a 4 year college in orem, Utah. The Wolverine's. it is about 10 min. from BYU and almost as large. it has about 19,000 full time students. this has been a hard decision for me. i thought for sure caleb would be at BYU Hawaii. close by. small school. all the things i wanted but caleb has been very thoughtful about this decision and i think it will be good for him especially in preparing for a mission he needs to experience being away from home. It is not a church school but is very supportive of the church, religion class and missionary prep classes are offered in the curriculum and there are student wards for him to attend.
it is 24 degrees there today but he says that is ok. i think he is excited to experience a different climate and area for a while and he loves his flannel shirts. we haven't decided how many semesters he will attend before his mission and he might attend summer semester. either way i am starting to feel sad and have shed a few tears looking over the welcome packet. i can't believe in a few months i will have 2 kids in college! where did the time go. i am happy for him though. he is excited, i am sure a little nervous but we will never know about that. go wolverines!

He will love it. Kids are resilient - they can survive the cold. Plus, he can ski. That's where my nephew Spencer is and he can look out for him. Tell Caleb congrats on deciding. That's a big step.

Woohoo, represent! He'll definitely like it. And the campus is mostly connected, so he can walk indoors the whole time while he's going to his classes...that way, he can avoid the cold. The teachers are really cool and though the campus has grown tremendously in student size, the classes are still small enough where you can get to know your teacher. Congrats to him for deciding!!

I think that is really great. It's the only time in his life that he can have this experience. I know what you mean though about shedding a few tears. It is a bit hard everytime my kids leave for school.
