Matt and i were going to go to Kauai for our anniversary in Dec. but we found out kiley was moving and we didn't want to give up any time with them especially over the holidays so we postponed it for another time.well it was fri. at work and they told me that i wouldn't be going with my student on her field trip on tues. and would just stay back at school, mon. was martin luther king day so i decided to just take off tues and have a really long weekend. i texted matt from work and asked if he wanted to go to kauai ?! he looked up some stuff, booked it on line and we left early sunday morning for a few days away!
the first thing we did when we got there was to go hiking. it was sunday so we tried to just do things in nature that day. we chose sleeping giant a 2 mile hike in, making it 4 miles round trip, 1000 feet elevation!
it was really beautiful!
