starting kitchen and floors

i started getting excited when our cabinets were delivered. we decided on white cabinets. we tried to maximize the space that we had in there. in the end i'm really  happy with the set up but since i didn't choose lazy suzan's in the corner i have a bit of a drawer bumping situation but only if the 2 drawers at the corner are open at the same time

we pushed the kitchen out about 3 feet which has been awesome. here they are framing the wall that will hold a bartop that we can put bar stools at

there were flourecent lights in the kitchen. that just won't do so we took them out and then they built a sofitt (sp?) and we can do lighting above the sink there.
the cabinets going in in front of the wall
                                          the sink cabinet
there are the 2 offending drawers, i'll just have to put things that don't go together so i'm not opening them at the same time. there was really nothing else we could do in that corner anyway since they can't really meet from us pushing it out. it turned out well, i was a little nervous about this concept.
the cabinets are in and the wall is in. we had power issues for about a week. half the power in the house was out so i couldn't get any great pictures but our friend ryan figured it out after lots of trouble shooting with him and HECO! can you really reno with no problems!?!
the floor started going and it felt real at that point. we were really dissapointed we couldn't do hardwood because of the huge price tag so we looked and looked! and i found a pergo that we loved. it's a hickory with a hand scraped look. i am SO much happier with this than i would have been with wood. this is scratch and water resistant so there won't be as many freak outs on my part!
the hall and part of the kitchen. the bathrooms will have tile so it stops there
the living room. really coming along. we have had great workers and have been really happy!
the doors that we are replacing are going to take 4-6 weeks to come in so they can't complete the floor until the doors get put in then they'll be done.  more to come!
