Utah trip

its been a whirlwind the past few weeks. we got caleb ready to leave on his mission to sacramento ,CA. He will be in the MTC for 3 weeks before he goes. you can follow his mission at missioninsacramento.blogspot.com

 we had his farewell at church where caleb and i both spoke then we sing aloha oe' and then everyone gets to say goodbye with leis or ties!

 and Bishop Jung who has done so much for Caleb in getting him ready! we are so grateful for him!

                  he got so many ties, we bought him one to send him off but he didn't need any more.

                               we went to the laie temple with friends and some ward members

                                 

 the mozo's and the sorens came to the airport to say goodbye, he's going to miss these girls!

 we got in early to salt lake so we went to see the temple and the visitors center, we had a really great experience with the sweetest sister missionaries there!

 we stayed at our neice britney's house which is the gathering place for everyone! we had so much fun hanging out, swimming and eating! i'm glad caleb got to see some cousins before leaving! abby, brynna, betsy, maggie and second cousin harper

 by the stars aligning in the perfect way i got to see my good friend tammy. she was there for her parents farewell and we got to go to theirs and see tammy for a short but so sweet time!

 one of matt's childhood ward friends is tammy's cousin so it was fun to see steve christiansen there.

                    this is ruby and benson, britneys 2 dogs that loved matt and were his shadows while we were there!

 i got to see holly for lunch, always wish it is longer but we had so much to do. she looks amazing and is doing well!

 so i was standing in line at target (we were there for the 3rd time and i didn't look so great!) and see stephanie neilson in the next line, i couldn't help myself i went over and said sorry for bothering you but i just read your book and i think your awesome and some other babble. she was really nice and let me take a  picture with her and lottie! all the kids were there and they are so cute. she's like i'm just a mom at target!

 we got to see matt's grandma, she loved going out with us and i felt bad when we took her to jdawgs one of caleb's old college jaunts and she had to eat a big ol hotdog for dinner but i think she just liked being out with us. maggie, caleb and abby with their grandparents and great grandma

 we went to the mt. timapnogas temple with grandma and grandpa, i had to laugh when i saw it, they were cleaning it and it was covered in scaffolding, that seems to be our thing with temples since the san diego temple was covered in scaffolding for ki's wedding!

    he was all packed and ready to go on wed. he had a nervous stomach and didn't eat anything before he went in but he was ready.

 he had to do one last instagram. he has had some great pictures on instagram and we're all going to miss them, hopefully he will be taking pictures at least.

                                          we took a picture at matt's aunt pat's house who was nice enough to let us stay with her and then we were off to the MTC. we said a quick goodbye on the street and then dropped him off. they are there ready to wisk them away.

 we're still waiting for an email to see how he's doing!

 we went back up to salt lake and met up with family. harper (great neice) loves matt, he's so good to play with the kids.

 we went to dinner and she said she wanted to be on instagram and she picked a picstitch but it had 3 pictures and i said i only have 2 pics i'd have to take another one and she said "do it!!" so we did and we instagramed it and i asked her what it should say and she said i like playing with matt!

                 these are the 2 great neices,harper and skylar, together. kathy, their great grandma bought them vet and dr's coats, they were having a ball! they are so cute

 matt and i drove up to park city the next day and had a great time,

 this was up at silver lake. we did not go horse back riding but once i saw the horses i wish we would have dressed differently!

 we rode the ski lift to the top of the mountain

 then hiked up a little ways to the top, it was so pretty!

 we had a great day! we had a really great trip getting caleb ready and spending time with him, i saw a great change in him and know he's ready to go!
while we were there ellie started walking!

 then as babies do she fell and busted her lip open

 ki sent this picture and i thought it was the saddest thing ever! i wanted another picture of her so i didn't have that sad image in my head. she was ok though and has had a few more since then, these are the hazards of learning to walk!
