house part 2

first something to make you smile! my beautiful, healthy, gdaughter!! doesn't she look like a gerber baby or a diaper commercial?! my mom says that's what i looked like as a baby!

to continue, some demo pictures, matt has the rest on his phone so i'll download them and keep adding on. it's good for my journaling too!
this is the ceiling in the office room. we thought it would be so easy to take down because most of it was hanging off due to poor installation but it is a pain. it's still waiting to be taken down
this is the backyard lanai and the terracing. there's not a lot of space but enough for a table. that tree will be removed, it's infested with ants and dying. it will all be leveled out but that will be a later project.
this is to the left behind the house. i can plant bushes or flowers or a garden in those terraces
this is another kitchen picture just because when i show the new one you will see the difference. the cabinets to the right in the pic are now pushed out about 2 ft.
this is the other half of the front  yard, it's all gravel so that will be fun to shovel up! we will plant grass.
this is the ceiling in the office, if you can see those boards underneath that will be the new ceiling, exposed boards with whitewash.
this is when the demo started. matt worked so hard, he pulled out all the cabinets and appliances by himself! i got to scrape all those linoleum tiles up off the floor. it was so sticky my  pants would get stuck to the floor!
my leg is next to baxter. while i was scraping up the tiles he sat touching my leg the whole time. he's been a little nervous about it but is excited when we go now.
                                                     kitchen demo'd
                                          dining room floor gone
pulling out the living room floor. this was through the whole house, it came up easily but it was tiring pulling them all up.
this is from the living room looking into the kitchen
this is our bathroom. caleb started it and matt finished it. the tub is still there but it will come out to make a large shower.
matt scraped the popcorn ceilings in the whole house, by himself! it was a dusty hard job. the inspector said it was fine to take down so we did it ourselves!
then we had to spray texture on every ceiling. that was a mess and it wasn't enough texture so we are not going to spray again but roll on sand texture.
we found a few things in the house that were funny. this is a ringer for the  phone! from the 70's!
                              more demo pics to come...
