Swamp Romp

Today we got up at 5 a.m. for matt to run the swamp romp at kaneohe marine corp base. It is a 5 mile run in the mud and water with obstacles. you have a team of 6 and all have to cross together to finish. there are tons of people there. everyone gets really into it with costumes or just matching outfits like camo gear. it started out a windy but clear day and then for 5-10 minutes it rained like someone was squirting you with a hose, the back of my jeans were drenched! the sun came out though and it was a cool, sunny, windy day. after the race everyone gets squirted down with a very cold fire hose!
afterwards someone from matt's work had a brunch, her husband is gluten free so almost everything was gluten free and SO yummy. i was eating a bowl of yogurt and granola with a berry compote, i said to the group at our table that it was really yummy but i am thinking it could have some alcohol in it, when the host came around matt asked and sure enough there was brandy in it so everyone was teasing me that i was going to be happy and sleepy for the day. i stopped eating it, matt said it probably cooked out but i could taste it and didn't want to eat it. i wish i could have gotten pictures on the coarse but i wasn't going to follow them in the mud. before and after was enough. it was a fun time. pictures follow in the slide show.some of the comments aren't showing up, i don't know most of those of the people but i thought they were funny in their costumes. i also didn't know how to end it so when it goes black it is done.
