Warrior Moms!

So who saw Oprah today?, Jenny McArthy was on who I admire for being a warrior mother for her son Evan who has autism (don't say he is autistic). She has helped many mothers of children with autism who are all warrior mothers and is trying her darndest to make vaccinations more safe, we would all do anything for our children but that task becomes all the more difficult when there are little solutions. Working in Special Ed i have really come to respect the mothers of these children, most of us think we have a hard day or even hard kids but most of them are healthy and are of the "norm". These mothers deal with their childrens disabilities 24/7 - Warrior Mom's BUT THEN- there was the mother that at the birth of her second daughter got a flesh eating disease and had to have her arms and legs amputated. She endured many months of physical rehabilitation and 37 surgeries all with a drive and determination to get home to take care of her 2 girls! her husband was amazing and supportive which is crucial when you are fighting any battle!  Jim Carrey was also on who has been a huge support to Jenny, it's nice to see a softer more serious side to him, his words about what Evan has taught him were beautiful. i salute the mom's of children with any disabilities! John McCain was on Rachel Ray this week and said that he wants to do more for these children,having the insight since his wife was a special ed teacher. i hope that comes to light if he is put in office, they need all the support they can get and really good teachers to teach them!
