My MIL sent an e-mail to me and this was part of it, i thought it was funny and having a teenager i can relate although i think now it starts much earlier that they think you don't know anything( and would never say old fashioned) and at least for kiley by 18 on her own she is starting to need our advice a little.

8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it .
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

That is so true. I think those were my exact thoughts at the time. HOw uncanny!
just like keli said, it is all too true. it's so funny cause eli is 7 right now and he does think i know everything. if he asks a question and i respond with i don't know, he'll come back with, i thought you knew everything.
