cel phone gripe

well on july 1st a law was passed in hawaii that you cannot text or talk on the phone while driving. i know it is a safety issue but it is a little late in coming, how long have we been talking on our cel phones in the car. now i feel like i am wasting time in the car when i could be making phone calls i need to, talking to someone far away while driving to north shore or checking on things at home before i get there. my biggest gripe is that i cannot call caleb and have him answer for how long?! he is driving all over town and NOT answering his phone or i will get the cryptic text, "driving" which he is not supposed to do but after me calling 3 times he is trying not to get in trouble. matt's blackberry came with one of those annoying little bluetooth earpieces so he can still use his in the car, my phone is not that fancy but i guess i can get an ear speaker piece or set the phone on the console and talk into the speaker but i think that is annyoying and hard to hear. it is also harder to get a hold of anyone else or you get to talk to their children which i don't mind but you are just relaying messages. we have just gotten so used to our technology, you take it away we get a little crabby;)

i saw matt try to get used to answering that thing while driving, i don't think that is any safer!

i agree. in the car was almost the best time for me to call people because my kids would not interrupt me and really there is nothing else to do!

I have a blue tooth and make tons of calls while on the road for work. It is annoying but the safer option, at least here in Cali - - the land of insane drivers!

Jeff and I both grabbed blue tooths at costco. It's taken a little getting used to, but I'm totally fine with it now--although the kids think it's pretty funny to hear me yelling at it when I'm trying to call someone while driving.

everyone is used to talking on the phone in the car but i think it's safer not to. sometimes i call jason just to see if he'll answer while he's driving and when he does i scold him for doing it. it just takes getting used to.

I have a bluetooth ear piece. It is annoying because it never feels like it always feels loose on my ear. I usually just end up using the speaker phone if I am in the car.
