small blog world

i have listed some blogs i follow on the right side at the bottom of my blog. i am so surprised at the amount of blogs and how people are connecting through them. there are blog conferences and people getting together from their blog connections. i follow a blog called anissa's kitchen, she is my sisters, best friends, aunt and her recipes look fabulous, you should check it out. i told her i have a hard time looking at her blog because the food looks amazing but it is NOT gluten free and i cannot eat it. i was excited today when i saw chicken fajitas, when i clicked on it it was my recipe off of my gluten free blog. i was flattered and worried, i thought i hope she liked it she is an amazing cook. i have not posted anything on that blog in so long and that is my new year's goal.

i have thought many times about blogging. it is like a deluxe version of a journal. i am not good at journaling and although this might not be my personal thoughts it is a log of my daily life. i hope that my children or grandchildren will enjoy looking back on the blog books that i am going to have printed.
imagine if you had something like this from your mom or grandmother. i would love it. to hear about me when my mom was raising me or some of the challenges that my grandmother faced or pictures of her beautiful flowers she grew. i do not have journals from them and it makes me realize how important it is to leave something behind for our posterity.
i know that blogging is not essential to our lives and you should not blog if it takes away from more important things in your life or stresses you out but for me it is a wonderful outlet and cool way to scrapbook my life.
i also love keeping in touch with friends both near and far. i love reading about other people's challenges, talents, loves and successes. who knew that when nikki told me a year and a half ago to start a blog that it would be something i connected with so much. oh and did i mention i love comments:)!
happy blogging~ Kelly
p.s. i am changing my background frequently in dec. because i like so many and want to see them all:)

I couldn't agree more. I can't wait to print out our Jung Family Book for 2009.

i used to write in a journal until I discovered blogging so now I tell myself this is my new journal! I love comments too thanks for always commenting on my blog.

Kudos! I love blogging about my family. I like it so much that I set a blog up for my extended family -- mom's side (storytime with the selfaison's) as a way to record and preserve memories. Like you said, it will make a PRICELESS keepsake for future generations.

Hmm. Maybe I should be writing more substantial posts so I can use my blog as a journal, too.....

I love the different backgrounds idea =). Christmas time is the best!

That is such a great idea! I have not always been so great about journaling, and I want to be. I also love being able to connect with friends and see how they are doing. I was reading your gluten free blog and I think it's interesting! I definitely would not mind trying some of the recipes there and who knows, maybe one day I'll get more into the gf lifestyle.

I agree with Juli, maybe I should be writing something more substantial than Luke craps on my table. How do you make a blog book?? Miss you Kelly!! love you!
