Mormon helping hands

Today was the 2nd annual mormon helping hands statewide service project. we went to the central oahu regional park to beautify and clean the park!
the young women and women started with the playground cleaning it. with all the red dirt it was quite dirty.

we scrubbed it down with buckets of simple green and rinsed with buckets of water
nita was determined to clean the whole slide, even where we couldn't reach.

our playground cleaning group
the men had to clean the grounds, it was not quite as fun raking leaves and monkey pods for 3 hours and bagging them up. after a while of doing this the park employees came and yelled at them for filling the bags too full. they said that the guys could sustain an injury taking those to the dumps. i have to say it rubbed some of the young men and my husband the wrong way. we are trying to do service, no need to yell dude!!
all in all it was a good day and hopefully we did our small part to keep our community clean!
