OK, i have been a huge stephanie meyer fan and can't wait for the new book,Breaking Dawn from the Twilight series to come out in Aug. i read through those so fast and couldn't wait for the next one. I am determined to get through this book but it is over 600 pages and it is not gripping me. everyone says it gets better and it is not bad but just not the page turner like the twilight series. it is summer and i thought i would have so much time to read but things keep coming up so that i get about 20 min. of reading in a day and that is hardly putting a dent in this book. Has anyone read it that loved it? i will keep going because i hate not finishing books and i like Stephanie Meyer and i dont' want to be left out of any book discussions from people who have read it so i will read on... maybe some time at the pool with no phone will get me going.

So my mom said I had to comment on your blog because I just finished The Host and had similar issues...
It does get better, I promise. I love the Twilight Series as well, and was really turned off of this one at first because it didn't immediately catch my attention like her others. However, about halfways through or so the action starts to really pick up and it's a much quicker read. By the end, I was loving it almost as much as the Twilight books. Overall, I really liked it. It's definitely not up to the Twilight books' standards, which is really what makes it seem so dull and slow, I think. But keep going, you'll be happy you did in the end!

Kelly,
So I loved your maui pictures. I totally wanted to ride that superferry before we left. I'm sure I would have gotten sick too. So, I have not read the Host yet, but Chet read it and really liked it. He also read the Twilight books with me. He is a great hubby. I plan on reading the Host, but I bought two copies so I could go the the book signing for Sam and Juli, but then I mailed them the books and didn't get to read it yet. You should ask them if they liked it.
Miss you
Love
Pam
