the power came back on and of course everyone went about their business, back to the computer, the t.v., the lights. how did we get to this point of constant technology and that we can't live without it? it is wonderful for convenience but i wonder how the family dynamic has changed from sitting and talking and playing games and telling stories to everyone having their own device to stare at.
i challenge you this christmas season to take one hour to turn off the lights,( christmas tree lights allowed) light some candles, read some stories or play a game, my kids used to love to play hide and seek when the power went off, i asked Caleb last night, he wasn't game!
bring in the "light of the world" and celebrate christmas.

It's nice that power outages can function as compulsory downtime =).
Jeff and I played games and talked--but I kind of think he was starting to fall asleep (maybe I'm not very entertaining company in the dark?).
Anywho, just so ya know, I went in for the version yesterday and the baby had turned on her own! Hooray! The nurses were all very excited and were giving me high fives and whatnot. It was kind of funny =). So, it turned out to be a very lovely, pain-free day.
