Counting blessings

So i had a big birthday last week. it was a good birthday filled with friends, flowers and presents. i am not huge on birthdays, sometimes i would rather just skip over it. it's not somuch the idea of getting older as a number but it is in the reviewing of my life and what i need to accomplish to feel like i made a difference in life.
i came across a poem that i loved that made me just feel blessed.

instead of counting candles
or tallying the years

contemplate your blessings now as your birthday nears

consider special people who love you
and who care
and others who've enriched your life
just by being there

think about the memories
passing years can never mar
experiences great and small
that have made you who you are
another year is a happy gift
so cut your cake and say
instead of counting birthdays
i count my blessings every day!!

i am so blessed in my life. i have a wonderful family who i treasure, the best husband, great kids who make good choices. family that supports us. good friends who offer all they have to whatever i need.
i appreciate you all in my life and count my blessings everyday!

happy belated birthday aunty kelly. You are a very special person to me. So is your family. By the way, do scotty and matt have the same smile?

I've been so busy with trips and getting Madeline ready for school I missed your b-day. Happy b-day late! I scanned the wedding pix too - beautiful bride and groom and looks like a perfect day.

Loved the post Kelly . . . I pretty much suck as a friend, I missed your bday. Happy Belated Birthday! You gotta email/send me your email address because I pretty much forgot it as soon as you told me (no surprise!).
