Good News, Bad News

Today in Hawaii there was supposed to be a terrible storm, school was cancelled ahead of time due to the expected 60 mile an hour gale force winds- it never came. this is a good thing it's just all day you were waiting for the other shoe to drop. i ran short errands, close to home to watch the weather but all day it was just windy and rainy, any other winter hawaiian day. on the plus side the kids get a 4 day weekend since mon. is MLK day.
The bad news is that our good friend Julia Mozo, (jon's mom) fell on her patio yesterday and broke her leg badly. she had surgery on it a few hours ago and our prayers are with her. it is going to be a hard recovery. she is such a caregiver, taking care of her husband in a long term care facility, driving there every single day to see him. she takes care of her 8 year old grandson Drake, helping his dad carlos. Now carlos will be helping her and we will all do what we can to help out.
Drake slept over last night so Carlos could take her to the ER, not knowing what was going to happen so he has been here for the day. we ate lunch at McDonalds and rented Clone Wars, i think i fell asleep for most of it, it is the cartoon version of star wars i guess, not a fan. Drake brought his nintendo DS. Matt has been wanting to buy this for me so i can play Brain Age, i have a bad memory. Drake had it so i gave it a shot. i didn't do so bad, it definitely got harder and i started to falter a little. I did the best on face recognition and remembering #'s i did terrible on choosing the missing item. i do not have a math brain that is for sure! at least i work my mind with reading :)
