Today matt and i went to whole foods. i am so excited to have one here but it is about 30 min. away and there is always traffic so i don't get there as often as i would like but i end up spending a lot of money anyway so i guess every few months is o.k. i wanted to eat lunch there, last time i saw the food bars they had there and wanted to try it. matt got the fresh turkey sausage pizza they bake in the brick pizza oven , it looks so good but since that is a gluten nightmare i loaded up on everything i wanted from the food bar. I got BBQ pork, tomato salad with pine nuts, the best mashed potatoes, autumn mash which was sweet potatoes, butternut squash and some other orange veggie that was beautiful, and a mixed green salad with walnuts, peppers, sprouts and sunflower seeds. i love that you can just choose what you want and try just a little bit of everything. at a restaurant you have to choose your one dish and it is not as colorful or as healthy as my meal was today. matt commented that mine was 7.99$ but for once i really didn't care, i ate it all! i got my gluten free food which is always expensive. i always feel a little guilty when i leave there but i eat that for a few weeks and then just eat whatever food i can for the rest of the month. happy day for me!

When you're on a restricted diet, isn't it nice to go somewhere where for once you don't have to stop and think before you eat about whether it is going to give you problems or not? Sounds like a fun excursion and the food you had sounded delish! Steve and I love going grocery shopping together. That is our date night on most Friday nights. I know - how romantic! Guess that's what happens now that we're old married folk :)
I'm glad that you and Matt got to eat somewhere where you don't have to worry about allergies. Hey, maybe next time we all decide to have lunch, we should go to Whole Foods.
i went to whole foods last night in park city! i didn't realize there was one so close let alone in utah actually. i bought mittens there and a bar of chocolate. haha i LOVE whole foods, too.
