My Traveling Girl

Kiley has posted some beautiful blog posts. she has had such an experience in spain. we knew she would travel but not this much and not so far. she has a map and a post about everywhere she has been she forgot portugal. i could have never done what she is doing at her age. i would never do it now without matt. she is so independent, brave, and adventurous. i love that about her. the thing i think that has suprised us all even herself is how much she has missed home. i think she thinks if she tells us she misses home we will think she isn't loving it or can't do it. we do not think that at all, it has been a long trip and i am actually glad to know she misses home. she loves to go go go. at christmas i gave her a willow tree figure. it is called mi casa, a girl holding a home. i told her that i know she will always want to go other places but to not forget she always has home to come back to. so it's nice to know she wants to come home. she has 3 weeks left and we are excited for her to come home.(for the 2months before she leaves for seattle) it hasn't been easy for her. she has a really hard time finding something to eat whether due to the gluten or due to the fact that her family serves fish with intestines hanging out, enjoying the intestines, or baby octopus salad. she has found a few things she enjoys like veal (not sure if she knows what that is) and cooked garbanzo beans and paella. she has a terrible pillow and the trip has been really hard on her hair and feet:} but all in all it has been a wonderful, eye opening experience. travel is the best education! can't wait to see her in 3 weeks after her very very long trip home! check out her blog if you haven't seen it!
