This is Caleb and his girlfriend Nicole. Today i was watching Oprah and Caleb was sitting in the living room working on some stuff. Oprah was talking about chris brown and rhianna and the abusive relationship that they have and how 1 in 3 teenagers have an abusive relationship. Caleb perked up and started saying things like how can someone hurt a girl, how can you keep hurting a girl. i feel so bad if i bump nicole with my elbow i am so big and she is so little and i could really hurt her, some kids at school are so possesive and i think they must have a hold on their girlfriends or boyfriends and get in fights over it. well i have expressed how my son doesn't share i thought it so interesting that this is the thing he talks about. i am happy to know that my son feels strongly about dating abuse. of course he has never experienced anything like that and i hope that it always stays that way.

You should feel good that your son feels that way because it is because of you. You've obviously raised him right. It's scary that kids are having to face these issues now.
Caleb is growing up to be a respectful and responsible man and he has you to thank for that. It's true about what he sees in high school. i hear about it from the girls at church all the time, you know, and i try to tell them that is not the kind of relationship they want to be in. hopefully they'll listen one day.
What a good egg! What a nice thing for him to share with you, I'm sure you appreciate those kinds of moments.
It really is so hard to hold back on my purchases, and I know we will get gifts b/c it's the first grandbaby on Brian's side, and the first boy grandchild on my side. I am trying to buy only things that are on clearance or bigger sizes, but sometimes I can't help myself. ;) My new due date is July 24. I realize it will be hot in July/August, but my sister recommended making some of those carseat covers for when I go out and about to keep random strangers from breathing on him and stuff, especially while he's sleeping. I enjoy it anyway, and it keeps me out of the stores!
He has such good role examples in both you and Matt. This Chris/Rianna thing a good opportunity to talk about dating abuse. The kids can finally relate to something and they have opinions. Like Kana said, I cant believe he could go to jail for 4 years? You know I have always said, Caleb will make a good husband =)

I think that was great that he shared his feelings with you. At least he knows you care and listen.
