we have wanted caleb to get a job for a long time now, he did not want to. i have 2 very different children. ki has worked since she could, paying for whatever she can on her own. caleb will take pretty much what you give him. he is not lazy but he would just rather spend his time with his friends doing things. we made him a deal this year that he would not have to work if he concentrated on school and worked really hard, he has done that but summer is coming and it is no longer a choice for him, he is too expensive! last year he actually applied to 2 lifeguarding jobs and didn't get them, he had no experience but how do you get experience. so anyway today he went for a job interview to be a lifeguard at hawaiian waters adventure park. it is a smaller water park in kapolei about 20 min. from our house. he didn't want to drive that far but we told him just see if he gets the job and he got it! i am so excited. he will be doing something constructive this summer, getting some job experience and making some money- Yeah! i am a happy mom!

Hooray! Boy, I bet he'll be busy lifeguarding there :)
yay! now you need to get an annual pass so you can visit him at work :)
Wooohoooo! Go Caleb, Go Caleb! Well hey...all you need to do for your job is stand there and get a tan! He he! I know it's probably more than that? Congrats man.
That's neat. Now he'll have experience to add to his resume. Hoping to go there this summer. Maybe we'll bump into him!
Good for Caleb! That's a pretty good first time job for a high schooler w/o a lot of experience! Brian's youngest brother is in the same boat. He needs a job to pay for the rest of his mission, but he has criteria. He won't do fast food, and was offered a landscaping job but said no b/c "it was too hard". He's quite a character and doesn't seem worried about where he'll get the last 2500 for his mission from.... But I'm happy for you that Caleb got one! Yay!
Cool, maybe Caleb could get Chet at job. (He got laid off last week!!!)
