in an attempt to look for anything we can find of our stolen goods, kiley and i have gone to several pawn shops. today i went to 3! first it scares me that that many are in a 10 mile radius of our house. second it is a weird situation. the doors are locked and barred and you have to be buzzed in to some. i guess they don't want to be robbed either:) the stuff is so junky though. they have used cameras for like 100$ or more, do they know you can buy a new digital camera for $100? i thought it was for bargains! they have a billion class rings and wedding rings, i guess you can melt down the gold? they also act like you are an imposition on their day, it is a glorified garage sale for goodness sakes, don't they want people to buy stuff. i'll say do you have any cameras- No, NO cameras! O.K. i don't really think we are going to find any of our stuff there! and i really don't want to go back. i guess it is just perusing craig's list which also seems futile to me?! If only there was some way to get kiley's laptop back. the other stuff we have come to terms with but not losing her spain pictures. it is really hurtful to her, she is a photographer and those are her pictures, her view of what she saw in spain, what she wanted to remember and it's not fair it was taken away! friends have sent her some but it will never be the same. she also had video of her at the fire festival which was a crazy memory for her. a once in a lifetime thing.
it is funny, my friends keep coming up to her saying, i am so sorry about your stuff, when i "read" that i felt so bad. she thought it was funny that everyone read it on my blog. i told her it's a great way to know what is going on!

Ok - here I am. It is awful to hear about Kiley. I actually heard it from Wendell. But, from now on I'm sure I will be reading about you. I think we should become regular shoppers at the pawn shops. Sounds fun.
i've never been in a pawn shop but from the sound of it, i don't think i ever will. i hope that they catch this girl because it's just not right when bad things happen to good poeple.
