karaoke

Last night we rented a karoke room for Nikki's birthday, i won't say how old she is because we are 29 days apart :) it was so much fun, i am not one for karaoke seeing as how my voice is not made for singing but it was fun to see the kids singing and just hanging out with good friends. i swore i was not going to pick up the microphone but they got me to sing one 80's rap from the wedding singer-the hip hop the hippityhop -you know the one, it was fun and my kids weren't there to stop me from making a fool of myself. Happy Birthday Nikki, thank you for being my friend that gets me out to have fun once in a while!

moving out

Kiley moved out to the house she will be living in in Laie'. it is a cute house, right across the street from the beach. it is a typical hawaii beach house, a little rough around the edges but really fun. it is small but much bigger than her dorm room. 5 girls live in the downstairs where ki lives and 4 or 5 girls live upstairs. i think they will have a fun year after the shock of how much it costs to get a house set up wears off. toilet paper, papertowels, dish towels, detergent, soap etc. etc.
i did much better with her leaving this year than i did last year, i guess i know what is coming and that she is getting older and needs to move on a little at a time but i will still miss her being at home! have fun ki, live it up, be good, this is your time! new ray ban glasses

Caleb had to get glasses for part time, i knew this was going to be a challenge seeing as how he has to be different than everyone else but in style at the same time. the challenge was going to be getting something i could look at him in, he would be happy with a lot of crazy styles that i was not going to pay for (napolean dynamite glasses- NO!) but as he pointed out he has to wear them so i told him we can compromise, although they are not what i would have chosen he was happy. i had to remember in the 80's when i thought i was so cool in my red, huge, sally jesse raphael glasses and i didn't even wear glasses, they were clear lenses. caleb should have been born in the 80's, he would have fit right in but he wasn't so he does what he can to keep the fashion alive!

Book Review

I loved this book, it has gotten a few mixed reviews. it was weird in places but that is the wonder of her writing. Stephanie Meyer is imaginative, creative and a little dimented but in a good way:)
I am so sad this series is over, maybe she will go on with it at some point but this was the last one in the series, i don't want to ruin it for anyone but i just can't imagine leaving the Cullen family forever.
i will probably start the series over when i get the chance. as i have said before I LOVE A GOOD BOOK!

Caleb's Eagle Scout Court of Honor

Friday night Caleb received his Eagle Scout award. The ceremony was very nice. We got to pin him with his Eagle medal and change his neckerchief it was an honor for us as his parents. He chose Jeff Halstrom as his mentor in scouting. Jeff is always there with the boys and is such a good example and always so fun with them.He was Caleb's leader for a few years and then moved up to the bishopric but was still always there to support them. thanks Jeff! We are glad it is over, it is a lot of work and a lot to keep up with.For his Eagle project, Caleb painted outside railings, benches and handrails at the Ronald McDonald house which was a great project at a great place. congratulations Caleb, i know you don't care much about formalities but this was a wonderful night to honor your scouting accomplishments, keep up the hard work in all you do!
