Today at school we celebrated Chinese New Year. A Lion dancer comes like the one pictured above-this is not our school! i think most americans like me think it is a dragon but it is called a lion but is actually made up of many animal parts like the horn of a rhino, the ears of a rabbit, a hard head like a turtle, eyes of a dragon, scales of a fish and stripes and a mouth like a lion or tiger. It is really cool this huge lion comes and 2 people are inside making it dance and crawl around. the music is a giant drum, tambourines and a gong, i got to sit right by the drum, lucky me. the kids love it, they are able to "feed" it red envelopes and get a good luck new years sign in return. They always put the new teachers up there from the mainland so they can experience it, the teacher ,pam i work with got chased all over the cafe by the lion. the kids were wildlly screaming with joy. i didn't have my camera with me, i was so dissapointed but hopefully you can get the idea. Gong Hei Fat Choy!!

Kung hei fat choi to you too! Hey, did you see that car on fire by your house? I saw a lot of black smoke in the area and wanted to be niele so we drove up to see it. We saw the Firefighters trying to put it out.
I don't think you spelled it wrong. I see it spelled by both ways. Anyway, my son was talking about all the excitment at school that day. I'm glad they did that for the kids!
great pic! i really get a feel for the event. looks like a great photo-journalist picture - one that tells a story. and why are all those people wearing pants and not shorts living in hawaii? probably the air conditioning in the mall warrants it, huh? i'll trade - any day!
