TGIF

i made it through another week! about 3 more busy weeks of school, then youth conference and then summer is here to relax and unwind until girls camp!
anyway i finally got to go to the podiatrist today. he said matt was right the nail had to come off and that the first few days are "hell" his words not mine although i might have said that yesterday. he said this is going to take up to 2 weeks before it is really well again. he put me on antibiotics for 2 weeks. i have to keep it wrapped all the time since it could be susceptable to bacteria floating around and keep it up when i can and he will check again in 2 weeks. i get a fun routine 2x daily of washing with surgical soap, rinsing with saline solution (no tap water!), drying with gauze and putting a glob of neosporin on with gauze on top, tape it around and cover it however i can. he did it once and it was not fun, it is very sensitive but it will get better. he can't guarantee what the new nail will be like b/c he doesn't know if it has fungus or not he had to do a culture to find out, that was not fun either, rubbing a giant cotton stick on my baby new skin! if the nail grows back looking like a curled ram horn or jurassic park dinosaur toe (his words again) then we will have to do some more work. i have to say i like my toes, they are long and narrow but they aren't bad looking and i like to have them painted , i don't want an ugly jurrasic park toe- PLEASE!
He thinks it actuallly could have been from a shoe rubbing on the side of my toe or nail. i hate to say he could be right, i have a few church shoes that i take off in the parking lot after church. they are not crazy shoes they just rub me on the side of my toe. he says i should not wear them anymore... we'll see?!
we are going to the temple tommorow on big island and spending the day there and flying back, hopefully we can just lay in the sun for a few hours and relax. i can't get in the water but that's ok.  OH and just FYI, my kids will be home and when they are not our house will be locked up tight ! Hope you have a great weekend!!

i went to a naturopath for my foot fungus issues and it finally got cured. here is the miracle cure for fungus and mold issues. 1/2 cup water, 1 capful of clorox bleach. soak for 3 minutes once a day for 3-4 days. wash very well after each time. that's it. works like a charm and so CHEAP!

Imagine the lunch we are going to have 30 years from now and it will go something like this, remember when kiley and cabe were in casts at the same time because of Jons wild adventures? and you will say, "Yeah, that was hard, I remember that". And I will say, "remember when Matt was away in Iraq and how hard that was?" and you will say, "Yeah That was hard, I remember that:. Remember when Jonah died and Jon died and you had to hold us both up? " "I remember that". And remember when you got broken into and you and kiley had foot problems all that same week? And again you will say, "I remember that" (assuming we dont have alzheimers by then).
My point is 3 things: 1) You have much more strength and are more stoic than you give yourself credit for...
2) I KNOW you can do hard things. You've done harder ...
3) You Will TRANSCEND all these hard experiences and use them for good. Thats what you have always done...
Plus, you are one of the Black Pearl sisters.
Strength in adversity, right?

Ouch! I feel so bad for you and your toe! I could stomach the pictures but probably couldn't have handled it in real life. I'm so sorry, I hope your toe grows back nicely too! And what's this I read about you getting robbed????
