Caleb's birthday

well we celebrated caleb's birthday yesterday, we had a little bbq with the mozo's which was fun, the kids played guitar hero and i had a try at it, that is hard! they came out and went to church with us which we always love. caleb didn't fawn over his volcom cake but i think he liked it. he did inform me that the left side is supposed to be black, i knew that but people don't like black icing so i didn't do as much. he is just a hard kid for me right now. he doesn't express anything, thank you, i love you etc. matt keeps telling me just to be patient and let him be who he is but i want him to be loving and kind and right now he is just such a "teenager". i love him and he is a good kid and i have to be happy about that.he does such odd things, 3 days ago he had really long hair and we kept telling him he had to cut it so he went over to nicole's and cut it himself. we said we needed to take you to get a haircut, he said that is a waste of money -you pay them to know what they are doing! matt said let it go for a week and then he has to get it cleaned up by the barber. caleb says i am always ashamed of him or in hawaiian "you so shame". i am trying to shape him into a good, clean, responsible boy. mom's get that right? i guess i will be patient a little longer. my friend sondra tells me when he goes on his mission it will all change. just 2 more years:)

replaced?

Yesterday was Caleb's 17th birthday. we had asked him for a week how he would like to celebrate, he said he didn't know. they had off school on fri. so i think he kind of wanted to wait and see what plans his friends were making. well it ended up we did presents and he wanted blazin' steaks, a little restaurant that makes really good steak, slices it, 2 scoops of rice and salad. Hawaiian plate lunch. i had a meeting that i was debating on going to but when it came time for the meeting caleb wasn't even here so off i went and off he went to hang with his girlfriend- teenagers! or boys i am not sure which or both! anyway i felt replaced. caleb asked for 2 things for his birthday, shoes which he is obsessed with and an ipod cord for the car so of course i got him both and a t-shirt. he opens the presents and says nicole already got me both of these- AHAGGGAH, i guess he told her the same 2 things but that is a lot of money for a girlfriend to spend. he wanted to keep the shoes since they were different but i am taking back the car thing. she made him cupcakes so i didn't need to do cake. i really don't think i am an apron strings kind of mom but i really felt replaced. i can't do much for caleb anymore at least give me the birthday! caleb decided he wanted to celebrate on sunday with a bbq with the mozo's so i guess that is all i get?! pictures to follow later...
