i am a little behind on blogging but this past week there have been some sad days. on friday the earthquake and tsunami happened in japan which is return caused a tsunami warning for hawaii. once again everyone we love at BYUH headed out to mililani. the warning was supposed to be at around 3 a.m. but we told them no sense to come in the middle of the night and drive along the ocean for an hour to just come and go to bed thurs. night. i was on spring break anyway which worked out well. we had maggie, abby, their roommate kat and ki and scotty. they couldn't get anyone else to come because last time they all came in the middle of the night and nothing happened. but this time it was much closer. after it was all said and done there was not much on Oahu, some of the water in haleiwa came on to the parking lot in the harbor and left fish there and the boats in several of the harbors all crashed together or came loose but nothing too detrimental. on the big island there was a little more damage with water coming into the first floors of several hotels but everyone was safe.
however we did watch the devastation in japan and were so grateful for our safety and sad for the lives lost there and the massive damage done. the LDS church is there in full force which makes me happy and the people are being very self reliant making chopsticks out of bamboo and going into the mountains and bringing down snow for drinking water. it just proves to us how prepared we ought to be especially with 72 hr. kits that we can carry out of our house in an emergency. we still have a ways to go because although i feel somewhat prepared for matt and i, i realized rarely will it just be matt and i in an emergency whether it's family, friends or neighbors so we need to be ready to help.
along with all of that news on fri. we were waiting for jill's results of her bloodwork. it came back negative. no baby this time. we were very sad. it was a tough day going through all kind of emotions and exercising our faith we profess to have. thank you all for your prayers and we continue to ask for them for the plan for jill and jordan and their family to be. she will see the dr. again in april and talk about any options she might have. one time on friends, chandler and monica wanted to adopt and chandler was talking to the pregnant woman interviewing them for adoption (sorry you can relate anything to friends:) he said i am kind of scared to be a dad but monica, she is a mother without a child. that's how i feel about jill, she is a mother without a child. something is planned for her life though, to be an influence for good in someone's life. we just have to trust in the Lord's timing.
all in all we are all blessed, we have our health and our homes and most of all our families, and for that we are grateful.
