D.C.

well this is our second day in DC. we flew in yesterday and it was raining and gray and cold. i thought Not Again!  we went to the mall and ate some dinner so we could stay inside for a while. you can go from the hotel to the metro and all over the place here staying underground so it wasn't too bad. Today we woke up to a cool morning with temps expected to rise all day. It turned out to be a beautiful spring day, a little breezy but perfect for walking ALL day. i better have lost a few lb's out of all this walking! what a workout! Today we did some sight seeing, if you have been to DC you can probably skip it, if not it is a really pretty place, everything kept up very nicely and the flowers are amazing, more to come on that later.

one view of the washington monument
                                                the capitol building
the beautiful famous cherry blossoms. some of them are already gone so i was so happy there were many to see!
me at the white house. it is cool to see.
up close on one side of the white house, the back side was closed due to "someone" coming or going, don't know who it was, we saw the helicopter once but it could have been anyone i guess.

i will probably finish posting the rest at home, should be a beautiful day tommorow and i go home early sat. morning. Can't wait to see my puppy- i mean my kids!

Nice pictures. It was a really beautiful day. It was really cold the last time I was there which was almost 15 years ago (senior in HS).The cherry blossoms reminds me of Japan.

I loved DC when I went to visit Kanani while in the academy. The white House is so much smaller than I realized. It was moving to see our nations history in person. Kind of spiritual at some of the monuments. Fun for you!
